Dear Parents and Guardians, Homecoming week is upon us and I want to take a moment to clarify the purpose and focus of these events. Homecoming is a time-honored tradition that holds a special place in a student’s experience in high school. It’s a time for students to come together, celebrate their school spirit, and create lasting memories. The week-long Homecoming activities, in particular, are an integral part of this tradition. While we appreciate the support and involvement of parents in our school activities, we want to emphasize that the homecoming activities are primarily designed for our students. These activities provide a unique opportunity for the classes to compete and build camaraderie with their peers. To ensure that our students can fully enjoy the homecoming experience, we kindly request that parents and guardians respect the following guidelines: 1. Let the students take the lead: While we understand that parents want to show their support, please remember that these events are for the students. Encourage your children to participate, be part of the school spirit, and enjoy the moments with their friends. 2. Parents and guardians are not to attend the homecoming activities at the school during the school day. 3. Concerning Coronation: We request that if parents feel the need to watch coronation that only the parents of the six Senior Class nominees attend. Please arrive for the coronation and then exit the building when the coronation is complete. For the other parents, guardians, and family members, we will be broadcasting the KHS Homecoming Coronation live on the NFHS Network on Friday afternoon. We will send out an approximate time of the coronation in a following message. Thank you for understanding and support in making Homecoming a memorable and positive experience for all involved. We look forward to celebrating the spirit of our school together and creating lasting memories for our students. Sincerely, John Neubaum Principal Knoxville High School
