New Podcast Episode: Coach Amy Hopper on Cheer: Leaders, Confidence, and Connection. This episode takes us into a world of energy, teamwork, and commitmentโ€”a world that lives at the heart of Knoxville Junior High Schoolโ€™s community spirit: cheerleading. Iโ€™m joined by Coach Amy Hopper, whose role goes far beyond leading cheers and teaching routines. Amy has created an environment where young students develop strength, poise, and resilience that will stay with them for life. Sheโ€™s here today with three of her eighth-grade cheerleadersโ€”Janessa, Delaney, and Oliviaโ€”who, in their own right, are learning to lead, face challenges, and connect with something larger than themselves. https://www.buzzsprout.com/2319526/episodes/16103916-coach-amy-hopper-on-cheer-leaders-confidence-and-connection

Parents, with the changing of the season, the need for Tylenol and Ibuprofen has increased significantly. Unfortunately our supply cannot meet the demand of the students. If your child is one that needs over the counter medications regularly, please bring those items to the school for your student's use. If you would like to make a donation of Tylenol or Ibuprofen to add to our stock, the most used/needed forms are liquid and chewable. We greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter.

MWES Families, Thank you for being patient with me as I get my feet under me this year. Moving my family from Oklahoma and learning the Illinois school requirements has been quite the experience. I will continue to do my best to keep you informed of all happenings at MWES. Mrs. Harter and Mrs. King will also be pushing information out via the Knoxville #202 app and the Knoxville #202 Facebook page to add to the MWES communication efforts. Please see our MWES October Newsletter for updates and upcoming events! https://secure.smore.com/n/surdm Also see our Outreach Newsletters linked on the MWES October Newsletter. They include pictures from recent events! A few quick notes... -The Mini Blitz was a fabulous event! The students worked so hard running laps and it was fun to see families cheering them on. Thank you to PTO and MWES staff for helping the event run smoothly. - Parent-teacher Conferences are coming up next week, please contact your child's teacher to sign up. - As Halloween approaches, I wanted to assure you that we WILL be continuing the tradition of live streaming the 2:00pm Halloween Parade that will occur in the gym on the Oct. 31. Students can bring costumes to school and change into costumes here at school before the parade at 2:00. Students should not wear costumes to school for the whole day. Please be sure to carefully label your child's costume as there may be duplicates. If you do not have a costume, please reach out to your child's teacher. We do have extra costumes here at school. We will send more information regarding Halloween Parties and expectations next week. - Wednesday, October 23 is a No Pre-K Day. Enjoy some quality time with your Pre-Ker at home that day.
