On Thursday, October 19th we will administer the PSAT/NMSQT test to all juniors at school at 8:20 a.m. in the morning. PSAT stands for the Preliminary SAT test, and NMSQT is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test. This exam is co-sponsored by College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. By taking the PSAT/NMSQT, students may meet requirements to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Additionally the exam is great preparation for the SAT test which our juniors will take in April. The PSAT/NMSQT is free for your students as the school district is covering testing fees. The exam has four test components: Reading, Writing and Language, and two Math sections. Please make sure your student is well-rested, and on time to school tomorrow. Each junior must bring a calculator with them for testing as there is a limited supply available to loan. Thank you.
KJHS Boys Basketball practice for 7th and 8th graders will begin Monday, October 23 (time TBD). Extracurricular packets will be sent home today for those who have not participated in a fall activity/sport. Each participant MUST have a physical/sports physical on file before practice begins, as well as pay the $25 activity fee. 5th and 6th grade boys (and girls) may participate in youth league basketball (not school-affiliated). Those forms went home with students yesterday. Thanks and have a great weekend!
Attention: Tomorrow nights home football game is Senior night. Seniors and their guardians will need to be on the track near the southwest corner (Home Locker Room) by 5:45pm in order to get lined up. The following sports/activities Seniors will be honored. Football, Volleyball, Band, Cheer, Dance, Cross Country, and Golf. The activities will begin at 6pm. We will introduce seniors 1-by-1, accompanied by guardians and will be lined up facing the crowd on the track near the 50-yard line.

Reminders for Friday October 13th at Mable Woolsey! Friday is a 2:00 p.m. dismissal day. There will be PALS before and after school. We also have a spirit day on Friday! Wear orange and black with a donation to St. Jude.
KHS NHS and Key Club are hosting Trunk or Treat on Halloween! We are asking for donations of candy for this fun, safe event. All donations may be brought to the high school.

Congratulations to Veronica Bush and Levi Pearson for qualifying for the IESA State Cross Country Meet! They will run Saturday, 10/14 at Maxwell Park in Normal, IL. Good luck and Go Big Blue!

Parent-teacher conferences will be held the week of October 23. We will be hosting conferences at KJHS on the following days/times:
Tuesday, October 24 from 3:30 - 6:30 pm
Wednesday, October 25 from 3:30 - 5:30 pm
Thursday, October 26 from 4:30 - 7:00 pm
If you would like to request a conference with your child's teacher(s), please reach out to them via email to set up a day/time. If you want to meet with multiple teachers at the same time, please reference this in your email. All teacher emails can be found on the district website (www.bluebullets.org).

Thank you to Country Financial (Doug Atwater) for the generous donation of $1500 to Knoxville Junior High School through their Operation Helping Heroes program. This will be utilized to support teachers and students in a variety of ways throughout the school year. On behalf of all of us at KJHS - THANK YOU!!
Congratulations to the KHS Girls Cross-Country team on winning the Lincoln Trail Conference cross-country championship yesterday.
End of the day pick up reminder for Mable Woolsey: Please do not block the entrance and exit to the circle drive at pick up time moving forward. If we have an emergency, and someone needs to pull in the circle drive it cannot be blocked. Thank you for your cooperation.
Attention: Friday's varsity football game vs West Hancock will be played in Hamilton, IL. The game will be played at Jim Repplinger Field. Address is 1471 Walnut Street. Seating is limited and bringing a chair is recommended.
Attention: Tonight's KHS volleyball games against Ridgewood will be played at Alwood high school in Woodhull. Freshman match starts at 5pm.
