Parents, as we begin the school year, we want to make sure that students are safe as they leave at the end of each day. As a reminder, there is NO parking on Gilson St. while waiting to pick up students at KJHS. Parents should either wait in the JH parking lot or in the football field parking lot until the buses depart from the school. We have a number of students who walk home, as well as students crossing Gilson to go to the football field/athletic complex for practices, and we want to make sure they can get there without issue. If you have any questions, please call KJHS at 309-289-4126. Thanks and we are looking forward to a great school year!
KJHS Football - for 7th and 8th grade students - will begin practice on Monday, August 18. Practice will be after school from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. Interested students MUST have a physical/sports physical on file in the office and be registered through Snap! before practicing. Announcement of Superintendent Vacancy
Please remember that the 25/26 Alma registration is now open! The district asks that all families verify that their student(s) registration is complete. For returning students, parents/guardians must complete the 25/26 Alma Task and Forms under the student's name. If your student(s) is new to Knoxville CUSD #202 you need to complete Alma Start. If you have any questions regarding registration, please contact the school office on Monday, August 4th.
KJHS students in 6th-8th grade WILL be changing for PE each day and will need PE clothes to leave at school. Each student needs a gray t-shirt (NO v-necks, NO cutoff shirts) and black or navy shorts (appropriate length for exercise, NO spandex). This will not be needed on day one of school but will be needed shortly after classes begin. 5th grade students do not change for PE and will not need separate clothes.
KJHS Cross Country (for 5th-8th grade students) begins Monday, August 4. Practices for the week of August 4-8 will be from 8:30 am -10:00 am. Meet at the KHS Track each morning. Reminder that ALL students who wish to participate must register through Snap! and have a sports physical on file. KJHS Lost & Found Reminder
There are still many items in the KJHS Lost & Found. If you or your student believe something may be missing, feel free to stop by the Junior High office.
The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM for the next two weeks. Any unclaimed items will be donated to Goodwill before the office closes for the summer. Thank you!

Congratulations to our KJHS Track and Field athletes who attended the IESA State Meet last weekend in East Peoria. All represented KJHS extremely well, with the following athletes making the podium:
Dane Fleisher (6th grade) - 3rd place in the 7th grade boys 1600 meter run
Harper Simpson (6th grade) - 6th place in the 7th grade girls high jump
Mackenzie Shepherd (6th), Emma Lambasio (6th), Riley Flynn (7th), Harper Simpson (6th) - 8th place in the 7th grade girls 4x100m Relay
