First Mid-Illinois Celebrates 150th Anniversary By Donating to Local Schools

June 03, 2015

First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust is celebrating its 150th anniversary by donating more than $20,000 to local public schools throughout Illinois. Recently, Knoxville Branch Manager Karen Tuthill presented Board President Patrick Callahan and Superintendent Steve Wilder with a check for $500 (see the accompanying photo) as part of that celebration.

"We’re pleased that we can reinvest in the communities that support us. It’s appropriate we commemorate this milestone in First Mid’s history by giving back," said Joe Dively, chairman and CEO of First Mid-Illinois Bancshares, Inc.

Presently, First Mid has 35 branches in 23 communities.

Dively said First Mid’s mission today is the same as it was 150 years ago:  “To fulfill the financial needs of our communities with exceptional personal service, professionalism and integrity.  So, serving our communities is the reason for our existence and we plan to be here for another 150 years.”
