Knoxville Curriculum
In the Spring of 2011, Knoxville CUSD #202 engaged in a district-wide review of the district curriculum. The first step in this process was identifying and aligning the district curriculum with the Illinois Learning Standards and Common Core Standards. As the review progressed, the district committed to focusing on aligning the curriculum with the Common Core Standards as they represent the future of what students will be expected to know and do.
After the curriculum alignment was completed, content area groups began working with the curriculum in more depth. Because this process is more complicated, these in depth reviews take several months to a year to complete. As they are completed information will be posted here for district staff to access, as well as parents, community members, and prospective residents.
The Content Area Reviews will occur on a four year rotation using the following schedule:
Year 1: Math & PE/Health/Driver's Education
Year 2: English/Language Arts & Foreign Language
Year 3: Science & Career/Technical Education
Year 4: Social Studies & Fine Arts
