Turn-on computer & wait for it
to load Windows XP (if computer is not already on).
At the "Domain Logon"
screen -- press "Ctrl/Alt/Del" keys at the same time, then type your "User Name" (the first letter of your
first name, and your entire last name)
Next - tab, and type your "Password"
(the password is case sensitive),
then click the "OK" button with your left-mouse-button & wait for the
computer to load
Changing Your Network Password
You must be logged on to a network
computer to change your network password
Press the "Ctrl/Alt/Del" keys at the
same time, then select "Change Password", and follow the directions given
The password must: 1) Begin with a
capital letter, 2) Be at least seven characters long, and 3) Have a number
in it
Saving Files to Student Folders
(Example used with Microsoft Word)
Click "File", then "Save
As" with your left-mouse-button
Type in a "File Name" (you may use numbers as long as they
follow a letter - you may not use any other symbols in the file
name)
Click on the arrow in the "Drivers"
box with your left-mouse-button
Click on the drive "u: your
logon name on kusd-dc" with your left-mouse-button
Click "OK"
Click "OK" again - your file is saved in your folder on the Network Server and can be
accessed by you from any IBM compatible computer in the building
Getting Files from Student Folders
(Example used with Microsoft Word)
Click "File", then "Open"
with your left-mouse-button
Click on the arrow in the "Drivers"
box with your left-mouse-button
Click on the drive "u: your
logon name on kusd-dc" with your left-mouse-button
Choose the file you want to open
from the list in the "File Name" box by clicking your
left-mouse-button on the file name
Click "OK" - your file is now open and ready for you to make changes and/or print
Be sure to go through the Saving
Files to Student Folders procedure again after making changes to your
file!
Shutting Down the Computer
Close all open applications
Click "Start", then "Shut
Down" with your left-mouse-button
Choose "Log off (your logon name)" -
you may leave the computer on
